Phone jammer laws of different countries

As is known to us, the United States is one of the countries who ban phone jammers. It is not just by ordinary citizens, it is also illegal for theater and restaurant owners, even state and local police or prison officials. The US has the strictest laws in the world against the cell phone jamming blockers. The 1934 Telecommunications Act makes it illegal to inhibit the use of public airwaves, which is exactly what jammers do. In 2000, the Federal Communications Commission affirmed this ban on jammers. Now, the ban of cell phone signal jamming blockers is continuing. The American law prohibits not only buying, selling, carrying or owning a mobile phone jammer, but also posting a Craigslist advertisement that claims you're selling one. Anyone who breaking the law by using a cell phone jammer may be put into jail and be fined about up to thousands of dollars.

Phone jammer laws vary throughout the world. In the UK and Japan, anyone can own a jammer as long as they don't use it. You may say these laws are funny. Yes, it is. When compared with US, UK and Japan, many other countries, including Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, and Turkey also ban phone jammers, but they allow the police or prison officials to use signal jamming blockers. More, in many developing countries, they have no laws about banning mobile phone jammers. That is to say, cell phone jammers are allowed to use, even for ordinary civilians. So, it is common to see a phone signal jammer in their examination halls, churches, libraries and many other public places.
Why do so many countries prohibit phone jammers? They believe that the wide spread cell phone jammers seriously affected the normal order of wireless communication. They will interfere with emergency communications between police and rescue personnel, aid in criminal activity as well as disrupt medical equipment like pacemakers. More, cell phone jammers put lives at risk by hindering a hospital's ability to block emergency calls. You need to know that there are more than 118,000 emergency calls are made from cell phones every day. So, they ban mobile phone jammers for the concern of public safety and personal safety.
Since the US has the strictest laws in the world against the cell phone jammers, the civilians appeal to the government that they need phone signal blockers to get them out of unexpected disturbances of cell phones. Last year, Letstalk.com found that 57 percent of Americans favor barring cell phones from restaurants, theaters, and other public places. Maybe someday the many states government of the United States will relax their restrictions on mobile phone jammers and they will be allowed to use in places like churches, movie theaters and courthouses. So we will be able to enjoy a more peaceful life without the disturbances of cell phones.
